Overview for Aprilaire 360

The Aprilaire Models 350/360 Whole-House Humidifiers are specifically designed to bring all the benefits of patented Aprilaire humidification to homes with radiators or baseboard heat. The Models 350/360 are so effective and flexible, they work equally well with central heating and cooling systems.

The Aprilaire Humidifier Model: 360 keeps it simple

Humidification is the process of adding moisture to the air. Moisture is one of the most important aspects of total indoor comfort, yet it's one of the least understood. Maybe this is because people associate humidity with the discomfort of hot, steamy summer days. It's true that too much humidity causes problems yet when properly controlled, humidity offers many proven benefits to your health, home and comfort.

Using the Aprilaire Humidifier 360 is one of the most effective ways to add the proper amount of humidity to your indoor air and prevent the problems caused by dry air.

Reduction of Relative Humidity Causes Dry Air

This problem is especially prevalent during the winter heating season. This is because the relative humidity (RH) of the cold, outdoor air drops significantly when brought into your home and heated. Adding the Aprilaire Humidifier 360 to any heating or air conditioning system allows you the ability to proactively control the needs of your comfort during the seasons.

Did you know that Dry Air Can Damage Your Family's Health and Home?

Physicians and other experts often recommend humidity control to prevent the damaging effects of dry air caused by low relative humidity. Low humidity can increase your likelihood of getting colds, flu and other upper respiratory ailments. Viruses that cause colds and flu thrive in low humidity. And, according to The American Society of Otolaryngology, dry air can make people more susceptible to infection. Drier air can also aggravate allergy and asthma symptoms. Low humidity doesn't only affect your family it can cause home damage as well. It causes walls, woodwork, and your beautiful hardwood floors to crack. Electronics can fall victim to static electric charges, requiring expensive repair or replacement. Low humidity can cause higher energy costs. Low humidity can make you feel too cold at normal temperatures leading you to turn up the thermostat. This leads to higher energy bills.

The Aprilaire Humidifier 360 Can Help

The Aprilaire humidifier 360 is designed to deliver the perfect amount of moisture to your home, minimizing the ill effects of dry air and making you more comfortable at lower thermostat settings.

In turn, this will save you money. According to the EPA, every degree you lower your thermostat can result in 4% savings on your heating bill. Every little bit helps in the grand scheme of savings, not only will the Aprilaire Humidifier 360 aid in this but so can a new Goodman Air Conditioner or Goodman Heating system such as a Gas Furnace with up to 98% AFUE.

Why Choose the Aprilaire Humidifier Model: 360?

The Aprilaire Humidifier 360 Installs directly to your home's central heating and cooling system, a humidifier provides whole-home comfort-unlike portable units that only address certain rooms.

Too much humidity can be as much of a problem as too little humidity. Unlike portable units, this Aprilaire Humidifier 360 continually monitors relative humidity levels and then delivers the perfect amount of moisture to the air throughout your entire home.

Aprilaire offers both evaporative and steam humidifiers that introduce humidity into your home's air in the form of water vapor, which prevents minerals from entering the air in your home and potentially into your lungs.

Aprilaire is considered as the Inventors of Whole-Home Humidifiers

Aprilaire whole-home humidifiers were introduced in 1954 as the first truly effective whole-home humidifier. Since then, Aprilaire Humidifiers have been imitated but never duplicated. Today, Aprilaire continues to lead the way in delivering whole-home humidity as well as Total Comfort solutions.

From my online order date to delivery date, everything went smoothly and timely. This unit was installed in an older home with baseboard hot water heat. It operates exactly as advertised. Proper installation is required.

Installation is easy as long as you have access to hot water and to a drain source. This removes the worry about refilling a portable humidifier and maintains the proper humidity. This unit is quiet and looks great from the room side with only a grid showing. Using a through the wall installation, the unit is visible from the other side, but no more obtrusive than a portable unit. This is the side you would use for maintenance, so make sure it is accessible. The only con I see to this unit is the waste of water only when running,(it does not recycle the water) but is necessary to keep the unit clean. This doesn't amount to that much once the humidity is in balance in the house. When the unit comes on, you may hear a click from the valve opening for the water stream and the fan coming on. The noise from the fan is minimum.
