Barring a major remodeling project, purchasing heating and cooling equipment is the largest investment you will make in your home. While manufacturers offer excellent warranties that cover a wide variety of circumstances, one conspicuous absence is common: power surge coverage. A catastrophic electrical event can leave you scrambling to replace your furnace, boiler, or mini split system out of pocket, even if it's only a few years old. That's where Intermatic's AG3000 comes in. The AG3000 is a UL1449 3rd Edition-certified HVAC surge protection device. It provides your heating and cooling equipment with both exceptional protection and additional warranty coverage. Don't remain at the mercy of Mother Nature and your electrical company, install an AG3000 HVAC surge protection device on your equipment and enjoy unparalleled peace of mind.
Powerful Protection
When installed in a line-to-neutal/ground application, the AG3000 has a maximum continuous operating voltage of 150V and a voltage protection rating of 600V. If you're putting it in a line-to-line application, those numbers jump to to 300V and 900V respectively. A 10,000 amp nominal discharge current rating means that it will still be working after 15 surges of 10,000 amps, and it can withstand short circuit current of up to 20,000 amps.
Comprehensive Coverage
Many connected equipment warranties only cover electro-mechanical components like motors and switches. The AG3000 provides three years and $7,500 of warranty coverage to every electrical component in your equipment, including microprocessors, circuitboards, and logic boards, making it the perfect choice to protect today's high-tech HVAC equipment.
TPMOV Technology
The AG3000's thermally protected metal oxide varistor (TPMOV) technology provides protection from a greater variety of electrical failures when compared to MOV technology, which is still used by many surge protection devices. TPMOV devices also guard against greater surges and disconnect more quickly than MOV models.
Multi-Type Surge Protector
This surge protector can be installed as either a type 1 or a type 2 surge protection device. This allows the AG3000 to be installed on either the line or the load side of the service panel, giving it the versatility to protect equipment in a variety of applications.
Durable Enclosure
A watertight, UV-resistant type 4X NEMA enclosure protects the AG3000 from inclement weather, ice damage, dust, and other debris. Whether you're installing it inside or outdoors, this surge protector is tough enough to handle almost any conditions.
Quick Install
The AG3000 attaches quickly and easily to the electrical disconnect of your equipment. The installation process only takes about ten minutes for a qualified and licensed professional.
