The electric heater was invented in 1893, and since then, there have been hundreds of modifications to improve them. But, you’re probably wondering which brand is best for you. Baseboard Heaters

Electric baseboard heaters are an inexpensive piece of equipment that provides heat for a home and runs completely on electricity (either 110 volts or 220 volts).

They are often used in a small home or in an addition, and baseboard heaters come in numerous capacity and lengths. The longer the baseboard heater, the greater the capacity.

The temperature is regulated by a thermostat which installs on either end and can also be purchased separately as an accessory.

The baseboard heater operates by convection, so the heating element—which is stainless steel—is found along the inside wall heats up as the baseboard heater warms the air gradually and effortlessly. The baseboard heater also has a built-in safety element that shuts the heater off if the temperature becomes excessive.

Oil & Gas Furnace

Oil & gas furnaces are heating components used in cold climates.

An oil furnace converts oil to heat, and gas furnaces convert gas into heat. The main components involved in this process are the burners, blower, controls, and heat exchanger.

An oil furnace functions by having oil pumped from a storage tank into the furnace where it is converted into a mist. This mist is then shot into a blast tube and ignited. The flame heats inside the heat exchanger and is blown through the ductwork.

The gas furnace, on the other hand, operates a bit differently. It starts by using a silicon nitride igniter to light a burner inside the combustion chamber, and the heat created from this process is then pressed into the heat exchanger. Then, the heated air moves through the ductwork, heating the home.

Tankless Water Heaters

A tankless water heater is an efficient machine that uses a heat exchanger to heat water.

A tankless water heater only heats as much water as needed—saving you money on energy.

Since a tankless water heater doesn’t have a storage container, there is no shortage of hot water.

The second the tankless water heater detects a demand for water flow, it begins to heat the water. When water flow comes to a halt, and the tankless water heater is not in use, it shuts down, using less energy.
